Freeman River Campground Provincial Recreation Area.

Freeman River campground is located next to the #32 Highway approximately 14km South of the town of Swan Hills and approximately  281km North West of the City of Edmonton. There are a total of 10 campsites open all year round. This campground offers campsites for both tents and larger RV's, water, fire wood, picnic tables and dry toilets. The campsites are fairly open and right next to the #32 highway. Freeman River offers off site quading, off site snowmobiling, fly fishing, canoeing and kayaking. Check the official web site to confirm it is open. In the summer of 2011 it was closed due to several trees that had fallen in the campground. Night skies here rank #4 on the Bortle Scale. This is Bear country, food and food related items must be stored properly.
