Goldeye Lake Campground Provincial Park Recreation

Goldeye
Lake Campground is located
101km
West of
Rocky Mountain
House at Goldeye Lake.
An equal distance of
3.75 hours
from both
Calgary
and
Edmonton.
There are 44 campsites with picnic
tables and fire pits. Most of the
campsites are surrounded by Aspen and
Spruce tress that provide good
privacy. Most of the campsites in
the loop near the lake are unlevel
only a few in the middle of this
loop are level enough for an RV. The
second loop away from the lake
contains level sites. This campground offers
water,
dry toilets,
information kiosk, pay telephone,
boat launch, dock, refuse containers,
fish cleaning stations and
fire wood. Gold Eye Lake is
excellent for fishing, canoeing, kayaking
and swimming.
The lake is
750m
long with a maximum width of
500m
and crystal clear. Goldeye Lake is stocked
yearly with
Rainbow Trout, you'll need a
fishing
license
to try out your luck.
A nice after
dinner or evening walk can be found
along a well worn trail
the leads around the entire lake.
This lake shore trail will take
about 45 minutes to complete andl
looked great for a mountain bike. Night skies here
rank # 2-1 on the
Bortle Scale
and the road
leading to the campground is paved
except for
1.5km
of gravel road at the entrance.
Fish Lake
Campground is located
approximately
6km East
of here.
This is
Bear country,
food and food related items must be
stored properly.
