Goldeye Lake Campground Provincial Park Recreation Area.

Goldeye Lake Campground is located 101km West of Rocky Mountain House at Goldeye Lake. An equal distance of 3.75 hours from both Calgary and Edmonton. There are 44 campsites with picnic tables and fire pits. Most of the campsites are surrounded by Aspen and Spruce tress that provide good privacy. Most of the campsites in the loop near the lake are unlevel only a few in the middle of this loop are level enough for an RV. The second loop away from the lake contains level sites. This campground offers water, dry toilets, information kiosk, pay telephone, boat launch, dock, refuse containers, fish cleaning stations and fire wood. Gold Eye Lake is excellent for fishing, canoeing, kayaking and swimming. The lake is 750m long with a maximum width of 500m and crystal clear. Goldeye Lake is stocked yearly with Rainbow Trout, you'll need a fishing license to try out your luck. A nice after dinner or evening walk can be found along a well worn trail the leads around the entire lake. This lake shore trail will take about 45 minutes to complete andl looked great for a mountain bike. Night skies here rank # 2-1 on the Bortle Scale and the road leading to the campground is paved except for 1.5km of gravel road at the entrance. Fish Lake Campground is located approximately 6km East of here.

This is Bear country, food and food related items must be stored properly.
