Gooseberry Campground Alberta
Kananaskis Country.
Gooseberry campground is located
approximately
40km
West of the
City of Calgary
and
14km
East of
Paddy's Flats campground.
This campground offers 83 campsites
for both tents and larger RV's, dry
toilets, water pumps, garbage bins,
sani dump, playground, water, picnic tables and fire pits. Dry
firewood is available here for sale
in small bundles.
The nearby
Elbow River runs crystal clear
and is home to wild
Cutthroat
Trout, Bull Trout and
Rainbow Trout. You'll need a
fishing
license
to try your luck, check your
fishing regulations for catch and release.
The
Elbow River
is the City of Calgary water supply
and is also popular with canoeist
and kayakers.
Elbow Falls is located
approximately
9km
upstream. Gooseberry campground is
located within 25 minutes of
the City of Calgary which makes it
difficult to get a camping spot on
weekends.
Little Elbow
campground and
Paddy's
Flats campground are located a short
drive West of here. There are also
several hikes and picnic areas
located West of here. Night
