Iosegun Lake Campground Alberta Provincial
Park.
Iosegun Lake campground and
Provincial Park is located approximately
11km
north of the town of
Fox Creek.
238km
north west of the City of
Edmonton.
Access near the campground is
11km
of gravel road. There are
a total of 52 campsites. This
campground offers campsites for both
tents and larger RV's, group
camping,
water,
fire wood, picnic tables, canoeing &
kayaking, power boating, water
skiing, public boat launch,
public dock, fish cleaning station, winter ice
fishing and snowmobiling off site.
The camp sites are well treed and
located
in the surrounding Aspen and Spruce forest. Iosegun Lake
has good fishing for
northern Pike
and Walleye. You'll need a
fishing
license to try your luck.
Fisherman without boats will find a
very long dock that you can fish
from. Boaters will find a good boat launch
and large dock for mooring. The name
Iosegun translates to the Cree or
Stoney Indian word for 'Tail or
'hash'. Iosegun Lake
is part of the Smokey River Basin and
has an approximate total surface
area of
13.4km with an
average depth of
4.1m,
maximum depth of
11.2m.
Iosegun Lake Provincial Park also
attracts a large variety of
migrating waterfowl and is a great
place for birders. The lake
experiences green algae blooms
during the summer months. Night skies here
rank # 4 on
the
Bortle Scale.
This is
bear country,

stored properly.
