Jackfish Lake Campground Provincial Park Recreation Area.

Jackfish Lake Campground is located 44km West of Rocky Mountain House on the shore of Jackfish Lake. An equal distance of 3.5 hours from both Calgary and Edmonton. There are only 5 campsites all with picnic tables and fire pits. Two of the campsites are located next to the lake. This campground offers water, dry toilets, boat launch, a rotting dock, refuse containers and fire wood. Jackfish Lake is excellent for canoeing and kayaking. There are also several hiking and mountain bike trails located near here. The lake is 1.2 km long with a maximum width of 400m. clear. Jackfish Lake holds Northern Pike, Walleye and Yellow Perch, you'll need a fishing license to try out your luck. Night skies here rank #3-2 on the Bortle Scale and the road leading to the campground is paved except for 2km of gravel road at the entrance. Fish Lake Campground and Gold Eye Lake Campground are located approximately 51km West of here.
