Location: Located
on the Ice Fields Parkway 36kms
south of Jasper. Next to the Athabasca River in Jasper National Park.
Description:
Mount Kerkeslin Campground contains 42 campsites nicely situated in a mature
Spruce and Fir forest. There are
both walk in tent sites and RV sites however better suited towards tenters and
very small RV's. Amenities include
picnic tables, public pay phone,
potable water, dry toilets, sheltered camp kitchen with a wood burning cook
stove, garbage bins, food storage and fire pits. Views of Mount Fryatt to the south
are beautiful. There is a nice Sandy
area located on the bank of the
Athabasca River that makes for a
great place to set up your lawn
chair however avoid this spot with younger
children as the river runs fast and deep. Night
skies here rank # 2 on the
Bortle Scale.
