North Buck Lake Campground Alberta Provincial
Park.
The
North Buck Lake campground is located on
the South shore of North Buck Lake approximately
153km
North of the City of
Edmonton
and
22km
East of
the quaint town of
Boyle. There are
125 sites that are available by
first come first serve, no
reservations. This
campground offers campsites for both
tents and larger RV's, clean sandy beach, public
phone, water,
fire wood, picnic tables, electrical
hookups,
swimming areas, boat launch,
fish cleaning station and horseshoe pits.
A small grocery store with fresh
baking and deli snacks is located in
the nearby town of North Buck Lake. North Buck Lake
also offers good
Northern Pike,
Perch
and
Burbot fishing, you'll need a
fishing
license to try your luck.
This campground
is good for families with young
children, the kids can play on a
clean beach which doesn't really
reach the water but the sand and
view is nice. Maybe early spring the
lake is higher up the beach.
Boaters will find a well designed
easy to use boat launch and a long
dock for tying up. Several campsites
are located on the lake shore.
There are both open camp sites on well
kept grass and treed sites located
in the surrounding
Boreal Forest.
North Buck Lake Campground is well
maintained and has a Northerly
remote feel to it. Elk, Deer and
Moose can be found here in large
numbers. This area is also excellent
for bird watching, berry picking and
mushroom picking.
Night skies here are
good for star gazing, it ranks # 3 on
the
Bortle Scale.
This is
Bear country,
food and food related items must be
stored properly.
