Obed Lake Campground Alberta Provincial
Park.
Obed Lake campground and
Provincial Park is located approximately
35km
east of the Town of
Hinton
and
270km west of the City of
Edmonton.
Unfortunately there are only 7 campsites
here for both
tents and larger RV's. The
campground offers, water, firewood,
picnic tables, dry toilet, fish
cleaning station, good boat launch,
power boating, fishing, ice fishing, canoeing &
kayaking. Obed Lake
has good Brown Trout fishing, you'll need a
fishing
license to try your luck. Obed Lake Provincial Park also
attracts a large variety of
migrating waterfowl including
Trumpeter Swans and a great place
for birders. There are three lakes
located within the park all of which
are excellent for canoeing and
kayaking. Jasper National Park is
located
60km
west on the Yellowhead highway.
Hornbeck
Campground is located
just east of here. Night skies here rank # 5 on
the
Bortle Scale.
This is
bear country, food and food related items must be
stored properly.
