Two Jack Lakeside
Campground Banff National
Park.
The
Two Jack Lakeside RV and Tent
Campground is located on the
Lake
Minnewanka loop
12km
North of the
Banff
town site. There are 74 campsites,
23 of these are short walk in Tent
sites. The RV sites have no hook
ups. All the sites have fixed solid
picnic tables and fire pits. Fire wood is available for
use in the camp kitchens and tent
sites. Also available are, hot
showers, flush toilets, disability
access and interpretive programs.
The Two Jack Lakeside campground is
a tenters paradise. The tent sites
are absolutely beautiful and several
are located near the lake shore.
They all have a level framed tent
pad to set up on. This campground makes
a perfect base camp if you want to
spend a few days exploring
Banff
or it's your 1st day out from
Calgary,
Canada. The campground is located within
1.5 hours from Calgary and within a
few minutes
to the
Banff
Town site. The Banff town
site is very small, you can easily
walk through the entire town in a
morning or afternoon outing. More on
Banff here.
The Lake Side trail along Two Jake
Lake and the canal offer beautiful
views of the surrounding Mountain
range. You can follow the canal
flowing South out of the lake for a
few kilometers. This canal leads to
a power generating plant located in
the Bow River valley below, it is
some what hidden and partially
buried for a few Kilometers. Two
Jack Lake is perfect for canoeing,
it's smaller size makes for calmer
water. Canoer's, don't confuse Two
Jack Lake with nearby
Lake
Minnewanka which is known
to have extremely hazardous wind
gusts that blow out of nowhere. Two
Jack Lake Lake is good for trout
fishing, a National Park
fishing
license is required if you want to
try out your luck.
This is
Bear country,
food and food related items must be
stored properly.
