Royal Tyrrell
Museum is located on the
Dinosaur
Trail in
South central
Alberta
6km
West of
Drumheller
and
138km
East of Calgary. The museum is world
class and renowned for it's
extensive
Dinosaur
fossils. Most of
the museums fossils have been found
here in the
Alberta
Badlands
along with the famous nearby Rocky
Mountains
Burgess Shale
discovery. There are 100's of
interesting fossil displays to view
and read about. Allow 2 to 4 hours
to tour the museum. Your children will
love it here and be amazed at these
prehistoric creatures. It is fun
to imagine when these
Dinosaurs were alive and how their
survival came to an end. What a
different world it must have been.
The nearby town of
Drumheller
has several souvenir and fossil
shops, restaurants, lodging,
shopping, gas and grocery stores. There are also several campgrounds
located nearby in the
Badlands.
Bleriot Ferry campground is
approximately
25km
North of here, Starland campground
is approximately
45km
North of here and
Tolman Bridge
campground is
approximately
65km
North of here. These three
campgrounds are all located within
the
Red Deer River
valley
Badlands.
If you're passing through with an RV
the gravel overflow parking lot
below the Museum may provide a short

South East of here. Several of the
Royal Tyrrell
Museums fossils were found in
the
Dinosaur
Provincial Park
area where a larger area of the
Alberta
Badlands
