Campground Comments and Reviews:

  • Went years ago to both lakes. The glacier at the end of Cirque was beautiful. It was hot on the trail and then went around the corner and there was a howling breeze. Chephren was more isolated. A big chunk of ice felt off a mountain while my back was turned. I really jumped ! Turning back I found a woman in a flowing white dress painting orchids. It was mystical. She told me to lay on the ground on the way home to find the little fragrant lilies. I found them ! I would recommend these trails !
  • Went up to Chephren Lake with my 2 kids ( 5 and 7). The 80m elevation gain is in the first 1km! LOL!!! It took us about 2.5 hours up and 1 down... Trail was clearly marked, just very muddy and full of tree roots. Great view at end!
  • Saw porcupines and the famous grouse there
  • I Love ella more than anything in the whole wide world
  • Easy walk to to Lake Chephren. Watch out for the mud and the tree roots.
  • This was my first hiking trip. I enjoyed it very much. I was kind of concerned in the beginning that I wasn’t going to be able to make it all the way the first fill steep hills are intimidating and made the muscles burn. but after I got over that it was all smooth sailing! I Really enjoyed the views around the lake.
