Campground Comments and Reviews:

  • I have done this in 97 and ran into grizzly. Hoping to do it again this summer
  • After crossing the bridge at the falls you might suffer on the switchbacks. But the real worthwhile bit is to continue to Harvey Pass, including the steep nasty stretch on unstable scree to get the gorgeous view both down on Bourgeau Lake and on the other side of the pass towards the snow-capped peaks. On the meadows up on the mountain side from Bourgeau Lake we could observe first eight and two hours later as many as eighteen mountain goats peacefully grazing.
  • At least go to Harvey Pass... so very worth the extra 2.5kms and elevation!
  • Fabulous tarns, marmots, flowers
  • We couldn''t have had a better day for it. it was crisp but warm in the sun. There was just a small amount of snow near the top and a short stretch of slippery trail just below the second lake. The trail is well built and rises at a respectable grade so that we didn''t feel as if we hiked nearly 20km. Highly recommended!
  • We did this on August 29. Very pretty on a clear day. A lot of climbing.
  • REALLY beautifull!! Did it this summer . great !!
  • Great hike with considerable elevation gain! On a clear day the view from the summit would be outstanding, well worth the long day and seemingly endless hike out.
  • The hike up to Harvey Pass is an absolute must! Unbeatable views of Mt. Assiniboine on a clear day. Highly recommended.
  • Mud slides wiped out sections of the trail on July 21/12. Trail was still passible the next day.
  • Harvey Pass is the best part of the hike.
