Location/Description

Location: North side of the #1 Trans Canada Highway 2kms east of Canmore, 85kms west of Calgary. Bow Valley Provincial Park Kananaskis country.

 

Description: Bow River campground is situated in the Foothills of the Rocky Mountains with 39 well treed Campsites for both RV’s and tents. The campground sides onto the south bank of the bow river offering nice views of the surrounding area. It fills fast on weekends due to it’s close proximity to Canmore and the City of Calgary. Amenities include, playground, water, dry toilets, pay telephone, picnic tables, food lockers and fire pits. Fire wood is available when purchasing a fire permit.

There are a few easy hikes that can be accessed from the campground. Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout and Whitefish can be caught in the Bow River. You’ll need a fishing license to try your luck. The campground is located close to the Trans Canada Highway and can be noisy. Night skies here rank # 4-5 on the Bortle Scale. This campground is best used for a stop over. Highway noise is terrible.
