Location/Description
Location: Yellowhead #16 highway 35kms east of Hinton, 270kms west of Edmonton Alberta.
Description: Obed Lake campground has only 7 campsites suited for both RV’s and tents. Amenities include water, picnic tables, dry toilet, fish cleaning station, good boat launch, power boating, fishing, ice fishing, canoeing & kayaking. Firewood is available for sale. Obed Lake offers good Brown Trout fishing. You’ll need a fishing license to try your luck.
Obed Lake Provincial Park attracts a large variety of migrating waterfowl including Trumpeter Swans making this a favorite for bird watchers. There are three lakes located within the park all of which are excellent for canoeing and kayaking. Jasper National Park is located 60kms west on the Yellowhead highway.
Night skies here rank #4 on the Bortle Scale. This is bear country, food and food related items must be stored properly.
