Description

Trailhead: Cameron Lake parking lot located at the end of the Akamina Parkway approximately 16km from the town of Waterton in Waterton National Park.

Description: Cameron Lake is a favorite for Canoers and Kayaker. Both are available for rent at the lake. If you would like to explore the lake shore there is a short 3km return hike that follows the lakes west side. Snow can linger here late into July.

The very south edge of Cameron Lake is located in the United States. Cameron Lake offers good Cutthroat and Rainbow Trout fishing. You’ll need a fishing license to try your luck, check regulations for closures. Ice is usually off the first week of July. There are several nice picnic sites located near the lake along with a gift shop, interpretative centre and washrooms. Expect hoards of people and little to no parking during the summer months. You Are In Bear Country
