Location/Description

Location: North shore of Moose Lake 200kms north of Edmonton, 10kms east of Bonnyville. Moose Lake Provincial Park Alberta.

Description: Moose Lake campground contains 59 campsites suitable for both RV’s and tents. Some of the sites are well treed providing good privacy however most are open to one another and somewhat poorly laid out. The surrounding Jack Pine forest has been cut back and thinned out to prevent the spread of forest fires so campsites are fairly open.

Amenities include group camping, clean sandy beach, showers, dry toilets, pump water, electricity, fire wood available for sale, picnic tables, sani dump, swimming areas, boat launch, fish cleaning station and play ground. There is also a golf course and a few hiking trails located nearby. Moose Lake offers good Northern Pike, Perch and Walleye fishing. You’ll need a fishing license to try your luck.

This campground is good for adults and young children Kids will spend hours on the beach and nearby playground. Boaters have access to a well designed boat launch suited for both large and small watercraft. If Moose Lake is not experiencing an algae bloom it can be good for swimming. There is a marked swimming area located off the local beach. The lake can be very busy on weekends and is heavily populated with recreational use. The nearby town of Bonnyville is worth exploring and has all the amenities one would need.

Night skies here rank #3-4 on the Bortle ScaleThis is bear country, food and food related items must be stored properly
