Location/Description

Location: 21kms west of Bowden, 58kms southwest of Red Deer Alberta.

Description: Red Lodge campground contains 41 campsites located within a mature spruce forest that provides good privacy. There are few choice sites located on the bank of the Little Red Deer River. Amenities include hand water pump, toilets, showers, playground, telephone, power, sani dump, refuse containers and fire wood available for sale.

The campground is located in a protected natural area that was once owned by an English settler named Mr. Crichly. He owned a red colored log cabin, hence the name Red Lodge. The trail following the river is very nice, several park benches can be found offering nice views of the area. Mountain bikers will find a few off road trails nearby. Fishing can be good also. The little Red Deer River holds Brown Trout, Brook Trout, Burbot and Whitefish. You’ll need a fishing license to try out your luck

Night skies here rank #3 on the Bortle ScaleThis is bear country, food and food related items must be stored properly
