Several of the sites back onto the Athabasca River providing open views towards the valley however the campsites are all open to each other with little to no privacy. The forest here seems stressed with little to no new growth creating a desolate look. Mountain Pine Beetle has also taken it’s toll by killing all the local pine trees. Beautiful Mount Edith Cavell is located close to here and offers several nice hikes. Wabasso campground makes a good base camp if you want to spend a few days exploring Jasper and the local area. Night skies here rank #1-2 on the Bortle Scale. This is bear country, food and food related items must be stored properly
